The first bank holiday Monday of 2024 was well spent for this group of Tulla Utd U9s.

Salthill Devon FC under Paul McSpadden's leadership hosted a 5-a-side blitz on their new 4G Astro pitch for the travelling Tulla Boys.

The facilities were top class at Drom Soccer Park and the hosts ran a very professional blitz keeping a strong focus on Respect throughout our visit.

The facility is home to Galway United Senior men's and women's training sessions so we were lucky to secure use of the main 4G pitch in between their training sessions.

With both clubs swapping Pennants before sharing of the game rules and a photo op for the paparazzi the fun games began with 28 Tulla Utd players lining out across 5 pitches.

The bigger goals and the high standard of football from Salthill were a tough match at times in some of our games but overall this was a super experience for all the players involved from both clubs. The Tulla Utd boys gave a really good account of themselves and the hard work they have put in over the winter training sessions.

The bus trip experience, combined with a visit to Supermacs all added to the memories for the boys.

Big shout out to Conor, Niall, Julian, Samantha, Veronica and Amutha for coaching and supervising throughout the day and indeed the many parents and supporters who travelled to support on the day.
