Congratulations to the 2012 Boys squad who were victorious in the annual Lough Derg Fc tournament held in University of Limerick yesterday.
4 teams contested a Round Robin with Tulla kicking off against Corbally from Limerick first. Goals from Luke Hassett, Ben Collins-McCarthy and Finn O’Driscoll gave Tulla their first win (3-0)of the day.
Next up was a game against the tournament hosts Lough Derg. Goals from Gareth McDonnell and Luke Hassett were enough to earn Tulla the 3 points in their second win of the day(2-0).
The final group game was contested against Murroe from Limerick with another hard fought win 2-0 win with goals from Lorcan Williams and Tom Hayes.
The top two teams in the Round Robin table next  played in a final...they were Tulla United and Lough Derg FC. Tulla made a very quick start with Gareth McDonnell scoring in the first few minutes and another from Gareth and one more from Luke Hassett made it 3-0 at half time. Tulla held on to their lead and the final score was 3 nil to the lads from Clare.
Loads of positives from the event .Tullas defence and goalkeepers were superb throughout not conceding in 4 games. And the building up of attacking play from the back with some fine football was a credit to the boys and great to watch from the sidelines.
Well done to the organisers particularly Alan from Lough Derg FC.
 Thanks to the all the teams that competed in a very competitive, but sporting, event, the refs including our own Conor McFadden and all the coaches and supporters who witnessed this group win their first little bit of silverware.
