Our Tulla Utd Boys under 10s took advantage of the quiet fixtures schedule on the February Bank Holiday Monday and took to the road to take on Salthill Devon FC under 10s in Drom Soccer Park in Galway.
After a similar outing last year, almost to the day, it was an exciting prospect from the outset for all involved. Players, parents and coaches looked forward to this trip, not least to see how the squad would fair out one year on against one of the strongest clubs in the country but also to enjoy a road trip with this fantastic group of players.
The format for the blitz was 7-aside, in keeping with both the home and away squads' development. Team selection for the Tulla Utd squad required a different approach to any previous events foe this squad in order to align more appropriately with the SDFC and GFA approach and to make the most of the development opportunity for all involved. After careful consideration around team selection the resulting quality of football delivered on both sides was highly impressive with all players being really challenged across the 2 hour blitz.

Playing in a gale force wind at times added to the challenge for everyone but it is fair to say that each and every Tulla Utd player proudly delivered.
The coaches ask for a high work rate, good communication on the pitch, positive attitude on and off the pitch and most of all for players to express themselves on the pitch did not disappoint.
Huge compliments were received from the Salthill Devon coaching staff and parents on our progress since our 2024 visit and this collaboration looks set to continue into the future where we will look forward to the return leg to The Cragg later in the this year.
Well done to all on a super trip! Huge credit to all the players and parents for the continued commitment to Tulla Utd. 2025 year ahead looks very promising indeed for these players.
