Our 2nd game of the season didn’t take long to spring into life, 19 seconds to be exact, when Paul receiving the ball about 20m out, turned and let fly, giving the keeper no chance. We controlled the game, for the most part and scored the second when Cian seized on a misplaced pass and from the edge of the box hit the bottom left corner. With Daragh R & Aaron causing havoc down the wings, the pace and workrate of Cian, ably assisted by Paul and Kieran, was creating numerous chances.
Goal no 3 came from a through ball to Cian, who finished well passed the advancing keeper. ST got back into the game with a good strike before Cian completed his hatrick with another fine run and finish, 4:1 @ HT.
A good half of football, with Odhran & Paddy on top in the middle and the back 3 of Darragh O’G, Eric & Dan going well with Colm in charge behind them. Eoghan & Ryan T joined the game for the second half. ST scored early from a corner to stay in the game. 20 min in, a driving run and cross from Ryan saw Cian get his 4th. On came Ronalds, Adam & Ryan M to complete the 5 subs and keep up the pressure. Quick reaction from Paddy to a free kick from Paul that the keeper somehow deflected onto the cross bar completed the goals.
A good performance all round.
