Friday 4th July saw U13 Div 3 league leaders Tulla Blue meet 3rd place Moher Celtic on a wet evening in Cragg.
The first half was a very even affair which saw chances for both sides, but both defences remained on top. The deadlock was finally broken when Gareth McDonnell met a lovely through ball from Weyinmi and slotted past the keeper. Tulla were 1 up into the second half but a period of sustained possession eventually saw the away side equalise.
The equaliser seemed to spark the Tulla Boys into life again and they piled the pressure on the Moher defence creating some good chances, eventually leading to a penalty for Tulla. When the Moher keeper made a fine save to keep the penalty out it looked like it was going to be 'one of those days' for Tulla, but the Tulla lads had other ideas.
Wave after wave of tulla attacking play saw Ben Collins-McCarthy, Luke Hasset and Ryan McNamara add to the scoreboard and eventually secure the win.
Credit to the Tulla boys as the kept fighting to the end with some super football, particularly in the last quarter of the game.
Well done to Moher also who put up a dogged display throughout the game.
