It's been a busy few weeks for our White Team, starting with a defeat in the league to Bridge utd. The lads were out of sorts on that night and were well beaten by a good Bridge side in the first half, but rallied in the second half with a much better performance, which was very encouraging for the coaches.
This defeat was followed a couple of weeks later by a great win in the league v Corofin Harps in Cragg, the game was tight at the start, but , after falling a goal behind, goals from Michael Olumuyiwa and 2 strikes from Tadgh McCarthy were enough to get the 3 points for Tulla.
Our final league game of the season was vs Coole Fc in Cragg. A win for Tulla would see Tulla finish second in the league and Bridge Utd. would be champions. A win for Coole would make them champions, so big crowd arrived from Gort to see this make or break game. Tulla were the side in control in the first half and eventually opened the score with Michael Olumuyiwa strike from the edge of the box. Coole got an equaliser on the stroke of half time from a free kick at the edge of the box and got more and more into the game in the second half eventually scoring 2 more good goals. Tulla kept going till the final whistle and were unlucky with a few chances. To the delight of the travelling fans, Coole were crowned league champions (well done to them) with Tulla finishing the league in a very credible 3rd..3 points off the top.
The series of matches finished on Friday night with a very good display in Cragg v Corofin Harps in the quarter final of the cup. Tulla put in their best performance of the season with Michael O'Connell, Leighton Purcell and Nickoloz Zarkua getting their first goals for Tulla to put the lads in the cup semi final.
