Tulla Utd U13's Division 1 team had a hard fought win against a very strong Shannon Town team just back this week from their trip in Spain for the Barcelona Cup.
Tulla looked the stronger team in the 1st half pressing from the start and got their reward with 4 mins to go in the 1st half when Seànie Hayes who came on for CJ O'Doherty lobbed a cross into the box for Weyinmi Emiko to finish.
The 2nd half started the way we expected with Shannon Town coming fast and direct at the Tulla defence from the kick off and got their deserved equaliser.
It was time for Tulla to respond and within 4mins we did when Oran Rodgers who was playing an outstanding game was moved from right back to a more attacking position got the winner by not giving up on a through ball and putting pressure on the Shannon keeper to get the ball across the line.
Still with loads of time left in the game there was a possibility of it ending in a draw was it not for the hard work by all Tulla Utd players with special mention to Oisín Collins who was nearly found in every position except goalkeeper.
Best of luck to Shannon Town for the rest of the season until we meet again.
Back Row: Jack McMahon, Ruadhán Fogarty, Isaac O'Connor*, Paudí Morris, Conall Ó Murchú*, Noah Finnerty, Weyinmi Emiko, Ruairi Moreton.
Front Row: Oisín Collins, Oran Rodger, John Scully, CJ O'Doherty, Ryan McNamara (Captain), Leo Walshe, Ryan Vaughan, Sean McInerney
*Players not involved due to injury
