The community of Tulla and beyond was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Edmond Crowe Snr. Ed was a true gentleman who had a passionate interest in the sports of the parish particularly soccer and hurling. He was a supreme optimist who always emphasised the positive both on and off the playing field. There was no obstacle that could not be dealt with; no barrier that could not be jumped and his teams were always winners no matter where they finished in the standings.

He was huge in Tulla Soccer Club when the Club was at a low ebb in the 1990's . He was an Officer , a Manager of the adult and youths teams and when the club struggled to find ground to train on in the depths of winter , he set up lights behind his house and we ran up and down Ed Crowes hill. It wasnt fancy but it served the need at the time. Ed loved his farming and was very proud of the success of sports in his parish and also the Clare hurling team. His sons and daughter followed their Dads passion and were also hugely involved in the affairs of Tulla United AFC for many years.
