Today was the big one for our u13 division 3 team.

Our first competitive home game. The mission was to make the Cragg our fortress and the lads duly delivered with a sublime display of attacking football.

We had 18 players togged out and every man played their part when called upon. Ten minutes into the game, Thomas Hogan made his presence known with a swift cross into the box. The ball ended up in the back of the net after a scramble to clear.

Tulla continued to pressure the Avenue goal mouth with shots from Juan Badru, Ciaran Fleming and Michael Olumuyiwa but we went in at the break with just the slender goal lead.

Tulla were hungry for goals in the second half and with 2 minutes gone, Conal McNamara threaded through a well weighted pass to Thomas Hogan who cut inside his man and scored his 2nd.

Avenue's defense was doing well under constant pressure. Michael Olumuyiwa stepped up to the penalty spot and cooly dispatched after Avenue fouled from a delightful through ball from Marcus McCarthy.

Michael Olumuyiwa who was an ever present threat on the wing scored his second to round off a dominant display.

This was an important match for the lads after a long winter and gets us 3 vital points in the league with our heads up heading into the next game. Thanks to Avenue for a sporting and competitive game.
