Tulla 2012 Boys made the trip to Eamonn Deacy park in Galway for the clash of the Tribesmen and top of the LOI Rovers.
Many thanks to John Byrne ( one of the parents in our group) who managed to secure tickets to the game via The City Bin Co. who are a sponsor of Galway utd and also provided free scarves for the group
. Many thanks to them also.
After a pre match supermacs we made the short trip to EDP and secure great seats.
The match atomosphere was great with a large contingent of away fans travelling from the capital hoping to see their team more or less secure another league title with a win. The men from the west had other ideas, however, and put it up to the current champions from the first minute of the game. An early goal and a screamer from the edge of the box had Galway 2 nil up by half time. The place was hopping and the second half was nervy but Galway held their nerve and the last 15 mins was a party in the Galway stands and the Tulla boys gladly joined in with the songs and chants. When the full time whistle went, it was Galways first time beating Rovers since 2006.
We made our way back to the cars and arrived back in Tulla at 11pm after a very enjoyable trip
