Youths Division 2 League Champions.

Our Youth's team arrived in Lisdoon last evening with the sole purpose of claiming the league title and did so in style, with a comprehensive win over our nearest challengers, Burren Utd.

Playing really good football, we controlled the game from the start, with James and Conor providing great crosses and winning numerous corners. The first goal came from an Eanna corner, well finished by centre back Sean. Goal 2 was very similar, Eanna's corner, Sean's finish. With a centre back on a hat trick, the others wanted in on the act, great efforts from Eanna, Oisin, Adam & David had us well on top. 2:0 at HT.

The 2nd half continued in a similar vein, our back four of Colin, Sean, Rian & Adam dealt well with any Burren attacks giving Simon a quite enough half. Mattie F & Oisin both put in a huge effort, constantly on and looking for the ball to start our attacks. Eanna was getting in on the scoring, with 2 after half time, the second a penalty. 2 more, from David & Eoin finished off an excellent performance. Tadhg F & Kevin came on to keep up the pressure, with both going close. Mattie B, Denis & Eoin at FB and midfield kept us solid and in control. A late goal from the opposition left the score at FT 6:1.

These lads have been working really hard throughout a long season, our first league game was on the 3rd July. Their ability and dedication shone through all year and to win this competition with two games remaining is a reflection of their efforts. Its not over yet, of course!!, we have the not so small matter of the Youth's Cup to play, along with 2 more league fixtures.

The league trophy presentation is scheduled for next Wednesday, after the league game V Burren.
