What a super performance from the lads today. Despite missing 10 of the squad for various reasons and backed up by 3 of our U12's, they played with skill and commitment from the get go against a very good Newmarket team. The back 3 of Sean, Darragh O'G & Paul with Cathal behind them, all in slightly unfamiliar positions, were rock solid throughout. Wide players Eoghan and Kieran defended well and got forward constantly to create chances. Odhran, Marcas and Hugh were on top in the middle of the pitch and provided lots of opportunities for strikers Ryan and Tiernan.

A typical Ryan goal after 18 min, sprinting on to a through ball to finish well. 2 more Ryan shots were well saved by the Newmarket keeper. 1:0 at HT.

A strong start to the second half saw our opponents equalise after 40 min. Straight back up the pitch for Ryan to get his second, a great finish to the corner of the net. Next, a missed pen from Newmarket. Then with 8 min remaining, A great run from Hugh down the left and into the box, a shot parried, but well finished from the rebound. 3:1 @ FT.
