Our club play so many matches every week that sometimes it's hard to stop and just appreciate the results. We're always thinking of our next game and we've also had plenty of bad weekends where we don't want to stop and think too much! Last weekend however was a great weekend for the club and now is a good opportunity to stop and savour it.
On Saturday our u12 Girls travelled all the way to Keadue in Donegal where they won 2-1 after extra time. Our u14 Girls also travelled to New Ross in Wexford where they won 1-0. Tulla were playing on opposite sides of the country with the same result. We now have two of our teams in the last 16 in Ireland!! We know girls football is on the up in Ireland and it's definitely on the up in Tulla. These girls are following on in the proud tradition of girls football in Tulla. On this same week we see our former player Emma Deegan signing for Treaty United in the National League.
On Sunday our A team came through their Clare Cup game versus Shannon Hibs after penalties
Today Monday St Josephs Seconday School with their panel of Tulla players won through to the Munster Schools Final
This is all down to the efforts of the players and their coaches who who put in countless hours, often unseen. The players and coaches deserve all the credit coming their way. Behind all the playing side there is then the whole adminstrative network of a club as volunteers ensure everything, from pitches, to gear, to food, to buses, are ready and organised for our players.
It seems apt that we also held our AGM this weekend as these same volunteers gathered to review the past year and prepare for the year ahead. The club is growing and the demands on our volunteers is increasing. You can help us to continue this work.
We need volunteers to not only coach but also to assist in the running of the club. Can you join us? Our committee meets monthly on the second Thursday of each month in Cragg.
You are welcome to join us at our next meeting on Thursday Feb 9th at 9pm. Help us to continue this work
