FT AET| Micheal O'Gorman Youths Cup Semi Final
Tulla United 1-1 Bridge United
A great display from the Youth team in the semi final of the Clare cup wasn't enough to advance into the final.
Tulla took an early lead into the first few minutes of the game with a great finish from Eoin Hassett and managed to hold it until mid second half thanks to a brave defensive effort and thanks to the saves of Simon Kilker, when a shot from outside the box found the back of the net. Both teams had chances to score during normal time with good spells of football and absolutely gave everything but coudn't find the goal.
In the first part of extra times Tulla had a few good chances with Cathal McNamara, James Wallace, Eoin Hassett, Alex Madigan and Denis Whelan but couldn't score and the Bridge goalkeeper was excellent. In the second part of extra time Bridge Utd came out strong and had a few good chances but also coudln't score so both teams went to penalties.
Bridge United won 3-2 on pens (Tulla goals Denis Whelan, James Wallace) . Best of luck to Bridge Utd in the final of the competition.
We're all very proud of the Tulla players who put a great and brave effort against a very strong team.
Tulla Utd is now looking forward to a strong finish of their 2022-23 campaign with 3 home games in the "Key to the Future School of Motoring" Clare Youths League Premier.
